On February 9, 2019, Jennifer Angerhofer, aged 42, was tragically killed in Minneapolis, MN. She was found dead alongside her mother, 67-year-old Eileen Mark, in Mark's apartment located in the Holmes Park Village Apartments in the Marcy-Holmes neighborhood near the University of Minnesota campus. Both women suffered fatal gunshot wounds, with Eileen Mark being shot in the chest and Jennifer Angerhofer sustaining gunshot wounds to the neck and face.
The Minneapolis Police Department
quickly identified a suspect in the case. A 46-year-old man, who lived in a unit adjacent to Mark's, was arrested on February 11, 2019. The suspect was apprehended near the intersection of East Hennepin Avenue and University Avenue Northeast while on foot. He was taken into custody at the Hennepin County Jail around 9:30 p.m. and booked on charges of probable cause murder.
The police have not released the suspect's name for investigative purposes. However, it was confirmed that there was no known relationship between the suspect and the victims. Charges were expected to be filed by February 13, 2019. The investigation into the motive and further details surrounding the case continued as the community mourned the loss of Jennifer Angerhofer and her mother, Eileen Mark.
