Edward Lewis Lagrone: A Detailed Account of His Crimes
Early Life and Background
Edward Lewis Lagrone was born on March 3, 1957, in Fort Worth, Texas. He grew up in a large family in a housing project in the southeastern part of the city. Lagrone dropped out of school in the 10th grade.
First Murder
On October 3, 1976, Lagrone got into an argument with Michael Anthony Jones outside the Lucky Lady Lounge. The altercation escalated, and Lagrone shot Jones in the head with a .38 caliber revolver. He was arrested and charged with murder, receiving a 20-year prison sentence. Lagrone served seven years and was released in 1984.
Triple Murder
In 1990, Lagrone began sexually assaulting 9-year-old Shakeisha Lloyd, the daughter of his girlfriend, Pamela Lloyd. Shakeisha became pregnant, and the abuse was discovered when she was brought to John Peter Smith Hospital. On May 30, 1991, Lagrone entered the Lloyd family home and fatally shot three members of the family:
