Zenobia Lloyd, an 83-year-old woman, was tragically murdered in a brutal crime that took place in Fort Worth, Texas. She was one of three victims in a triple homicide committed by Edward Lagrone, a convicted murderer with a violent past. The incident occurred in the early hours of May 30, 1991, when Lagrone entered the Lloyd family home and opened fire with a double-barreled pistol-grip shotgun.
Lloyd was killed alongside her great-niece, 10-year-old Shakeisha Lloyd, and another relative, 76-year-old Caola Lloyd, who was deaf, blind, and bedridden with cancer. The attack was reportedly motivated by Lagrone's anger over a sexual assault complaint filed against him by Pamela Lloyd, Shakeisha's mother. Pamela had discovered that her daughter was pregnant and reported Lagrone to the authorities, leading to his arrest and subsequent release on bail.
Following the murders, Lagrone was swiftly arrested and charged with capital murder. His trial took place in 1993, where he was convicted of three counts of capital murder and sentenced to death. The prosecution presented DNA evidence that linked Lagrone to the pregnancy of Shakeisha Lloyd, further solidifying the case against him. Despite maintaining his innocence, Lagrone's appeals were denied, and he was executed by lethal injection on February 11, 2004.
