On September 9, 2002, Gross failed to attend a scheduled football game at Walker's residence and did not show up for work the following day. Concerned, Walker visited Gross's apartment and discovered his naked, hogtied body on the floor. Gross had been raped, strangled, and his throat was slit.

  • Location: Bartlett, Tennessee
  • Details: Jones, accompanied by 20-year-old Tevarus Young, visited the home of 82-year-old Clarence James and his 67-year-old wife, Lillian. Known for their hospitality, the couple welcomed them. Jones took advantage of this trust, binding, stabbing, and strangling both victims before slitting their throats with scissors. The duo then stole the couple's credit card and jewelry before fleeing. The bodies were discovered the following day after their daughter reported concerns.

  • Location: Melbourne, Florida
  • Details: Jones befriended 19-year-old Carlos Perez, a construction worker in Fort Lauderdale. They occasionally bought drugs together. On August 26, 2003, they checked into a Super 8 Motel in Melbourne. Jones hogtied, raped, and strangled Perez before slitting his throat. Perez's body was discovered the next day by housekeeping staff.

Investigation and Arrest
