Genene Anne Jones, born on July 13, 1950, is an American serial killer and former pediatric nurse. She is believed to have murdered between 11 and 46 infants and children under her care during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Jones earned the moniker "Angel of Death" due to her heinous acts committed within medical settings.

Modus Operandi

Jones utilized her position as a nurse to administer lethal doses of medications such as digoxin, heparin, and succinylcholine. These substances induced medical crises in her young patients, leading to severe complications like cardiac arrest. Jones would then attempt to resuscitate the children, positioning herself as a hero. Tragically, many of these children did not survive her interventions.

• Chelsea McClellan: On September 17, 1982, 15-month-old Chelsea McClellan was brought to Dr. Kathleen Holland's clinic in Kerrville, Texas, for routine immunizations. Jones administered succinylcholine, leading to Chelsea's death. This incident was pivotal in exposing Jones's crimes.
• Rolando Santos: In 1982, four-week-old Rolando Santos experienced a near-fatal episode after Jones injected him with heparin, a blood thinner. Fortunately, he survived.
• Joshua Sawyer: On December 12, 1981, 11-month-old Joshua Sawyer died from a lethal dose of the anti-seizure medication Dilantin, administered by Jones at Bexar County Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.
• Rosemary Vega: On September 16, 1981, two-year-old Rosemary Vega suffered a fatal cardiac arrest shortly after Jones administered an intravenous injection at Bexar County Hospital.
• Richard "Ricky" Nelson: On July 3, 1981, Ricky Nelson died under suspicious circumstances while under Jones's care at Bexar County Hospital.
• Paul Villarreal: On September 24, 1981, Paul Villarreal, a young patient at Bexar County Hospital, died unexpectedly while under Jones's supervision.
• Patrick Zavala: On January 17, 1982, Patrick Zavala became another victim, dying under mysterious conditions at Bexar County Hospital while in Jones's care.
