On May 8, 2005, Mother's Day, eight-year-old Laura Hobbs and nine-year-old Krystal Tobias went out to play on their bicycles in Zion, Illinois. When they failed to return home by nightfall, their families, along with police and volunteers, initiated an extensive search. It wasn't until years later that the true perpetrator, Jorge Avila-Torrez, was identified through DNA matches from subsequent crimes.
