Harrison Frank Graham: The "Franklin Street Strangler"
Overview
Harrison Frank Graham was an American serial killer who operated in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania during the 1980s. He was dubbed the "Franklin Street Strangler" because he committed his crimes at his apartment on North Franklin Street. Graham, who had a mild intellectual disability and a history of substance abuse, preyed primarily on vulnerable women, most of whom were struggling with addiction and poverty. His killings went largely unnoticed until a horrifying discovery in 1987.
Crimes and Victims
Graham murdered at least seven women between 1986 and 1987. The victims were found in various states of decomposition in his North Philadelphia apartment, which was located in a run-down neighborhood and littered with garbage and debris. The killings came to light on August 9, 1987, when Graham was evicted from his apartment and the landlord entered to find a nauseating stench and human remains.
