  • Details: Johnson, 32, was found shot multiple times. Franklin, along with an accomplice, attempted to rob Johnson during a drug transaction. Johnson's body was discovered near East Rock Park. Franklin was later charged with first-degree manslaughter in this case.
• Ryan Barnaby
  • Date: May 2011
  • Location: Edgewood Park, New Haven, Connecticut
  • Details: Barnaby, from Waterbury, was shot and killed during a supposed transaction in which Barnaby was selling a gun to Franklin. The incident occurred in Edgewood Park. Franklin pleaded guilty to murder in this case and received a 30-year sentence.
• John-Claude James
  • Date: July 9, 2011
  • Location: Parking lot behind a multifamily residence near Howard Avenue and Putnam Street, New Haven, Connecticut
  • Details: James, 26, was shot in the chest by Franklin, who intended to steal James's gold necklace. A witness testified to seeing Franklin shoot James and then flee the scene. Franklin was convicted of murder, felony murder, and robbery in this case, receiving a 65-year sentence.

  • Date: July 8, 2011
  • Location: Waterbury, Connecticut
  • Details: Franklin shot and killed a man who was riding a three-wheeled motorcycle, intending to steal the vehicle. He was convicted and sentenced to 75 years for this murder.

Sentencing and Incarceration

In February 2015, Franklin was sentenced to an additional 55 years for the murders of Jeremiah Johnson and Ryan Barnaby, on top of the 140 years he was already serving for the murders of John-Claude James and the unidentified Waterbury victim.
