Details of the Broadway-Elms Murders

On June 11, 1982, Sharp approached Brenda Broadway and her daughters, Selena (14) and Christie (8), at a car wash in Kermit, Texas. Threatening them at knifepoint, he forced them into his pickup truck and drove to a remote area. There, he raped Brenda and attempted to assault Selena. During the ordeal, Brenda began praying, which angered Sharp. He responded by stabbing Brenda and Christie to death.
