John Errol Ferguson was a convicted serial killer responsible for a series of brutal murders in Florida during the late 1970s. His crimes were marked by extreme violence and premeditation, leading to his eventual conviction and execution.The 1977 Carol City Murders
On July 27, 1977, Ferguson, along with two accomplices, carried out a mass murder during a home invasion in Carol City, Florida. Posing as a power company worker, Ferguson entered the home of six individuals, bound them, and executed them at point-blank range. This massacre is considered one of the most heinous crimes in Florida's history. Victims of the Carol City Murders:- Gilbert Williams (host of the gathering, shot execution-style)
- Johnnie Hall (victim of multiple gunshot wounds)
- Gustavo Ceballos (tied up and shot to death)
- Henry Clayton (executed alongside others)
- Willie Stokes (one of the victims left for dead)
- Belinda Worley (only survivor, played dead and later identified Ferguson)
The 1978 Murders of Two Teenagers
Less than a year after the Carol City massacre, Ferguson committed another double homicide. On January 8, 1978, he murdered two teenage hitchhikers in Miami-Dade County. The victims were shot execution-style in an apparent robbery. Victims of the 1978 Murders:- Brian Glenfeldt (17 years old, shot in the head)
- Richard Phillips (17 years old, also executed at point-blank range)
