- June 26, 1999: Victim: Jonathan Lemuel Lara, 26 Location: RadioShack, Laurens Road, Greenville, South Carolina Details: Lara was working alone when he was attacked. He was bound to a chair with flex ties in the store's back room and fatally stabbed in the neck with a screwdriver. The assailant locked the front door, turned off the lights, and hung a "Closed" sign before fleeing. Lara's body was discovered by a co-worker.
- December 22, 1999: Victim: Karen Moore Hayden, 30 Location: Greenville-Pelham Florist, Rutherford Road, Greenville, South Carolina Details: Hayden was alone in the shop when she was attacked. She was found face down in a back storage room with her throat slit. The store's front door was locked, lights were off, and a "Closed" sign was displayed. Her body was discovered by a delivery person sent to check on her.
- December 23, 1999: Victims: Sandra Roberts Ott, 33, and her ex-husband, Timothy Ott, 32 Location: Timothy Ott's residence, Easley, South Carolina Details: Bounds broke into Timothy Ott's home, where Sandra had sought refuge after paging her ex-husband with a "911" emergency signal. Bounds fatally shot Sandra inside the house. Timothy fled to a neighbor's home seeking help, but Bounds followed and shot him there.
Final Standoff and Death
