Warren Luther Alexander (born January 12, 1951) is an American suspected serial killer and former long-haul truck driver who has been charged with multiple murders spanning several decades. Investigators believe he targeted vulnerable women, many of whom were engaged in sex work. His alleged crimes remained unsolved for decades until advances in forensic DNA testing and investigative genetic genealogy helped identify him as a suspect. Authorities have stated that the investigation remains active and that additional victims may exist in other states because of Alexander's extensive cross-country trucking career.

The 1977 Ventura County Murders

In 1977, three women were murdered in Ventura County, California. Each victim died from strangulation, and investigators quickly recognized similarities between the cases. However, despite collecting forensic evidence, investigators were unable to identify a suspect for more than four decades. In 2023, the Ventura County Sheriff's Cold Case Unit reexamined the evidence using modern DNA technology. The investigation ultimately linked Warren Luther Alexander to the crimes, and he was extradited to California in August 2024 to face three counts of first-degree murder.
