Charles Frederick Albright: The Eyeball Killer
Early Life and Background
Charles Frederick Albright was born on August 10, 1933, in Amarillo, Texas. Adopted by Delle and Fred Albright, his mother, a strict and overprotective schoolteacher, accelerated his education, enabling him to skip two grades. Despite his academic prowess, Albright exhibited early signs of delinquency, including petty theft and aggravated assault by the age of 13. At 15, he graduated from high school and enrolled at North Texas University, aiming to pursue medical studies. However, his criminal activities escalated, leading to a year-long incarceration at 16 for theft and possession of firearms.
Escalation of Criminal Activities
After his release, Albright attended Arkansas State Teachers College, majoring in pre-med studies. His penchant for theft persisted, resulting in his expulsion before graduation. Undeterred, he forged academic documents to obtain fictitious bachelor's and master's degrees. He married his college girlfriend, and they had a daughter. However, his fraudulent activities and inability to maintain stable employment strained the marriage, leading to their separation in 1965 and divorce in 1974. Albright's criminal record expanded to include theft, for which he served a brief prison sentence, and sexual molestation of a minor in 1981, for which he received probation.
The Murders
Between December 1990 and March 1991, a series of gruesome murders shocked Dallas, Texas. The victims, all sex workers, were found with their eyes surgically removed, earning the perpetrator the moniker "The Eyeball Killer."
