Background

Billy Edwin Reid, born in 1959, is an American convicted murderer and suspected serial killer. In 2005, DNA profiling linked him to the 1989 murders of Lannell Williams and Lisa Kelly in Denver, Colorado. He was subsequently convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment for these crimes. Authorities suspect Reid's involvement in additional murders, particularly those attributed to the unidentified "Denver Prostitute Killer," responsible for at least 17 murders between 1975 and 1995. Confirmed Victims

• Lisa Kay Kelly: Her decomposed body was discovered on March 24, 1989, on a mountainside. She had been missing since 1988. Reid's DNA matched evidence found at the crime scene, leading to his arrest and conviction for her murder.
• Lannell Williams: Her body was found on October 14, 1989, near Clear Creek by two East High School students. Reid was linked to her murder through DNA evidence and was convicted for this crime as well.

Suspected Victims Attributed to the Denver Prostitute Killer

Between 1975 and 1995, the Denver Prostitute Killer targeted young women, many of whom were hitchhikers or involved in prostitution. The victims were often beaten, strangled, and their bodies dumped along Interstate 70, sometimes posed in humiliating positions. While Reid is a suspect in these murders, no definitive evidence has been found to link him to these crimes. Notable victims include:

• Kimberly Jean Grabin: A 17-year-old prostitute found raped and strangled on August 18, 1979, near Interstate 70.
• Stephanie Ann Bauman: A 15-year-old who went missing in October 1980 after hitchhiking home. Her naked body was found in a ravine on the outskirts of Denver on October 28. She had been beaten and tortured before being left to die from hypothermia.
• Karolyn Walker: An 18-year-old who disappeared on July 4, 1987, after meeting with her fiancé. She was later found raped and strangled.
• Donna Wayne: An 18-year-old who went missing on July 14, 1986, after visiting a bar with friends. Her body was found a month later near Aurora.
