Serial Killer: Diana Lumbrera
Early Life
Diana Lumbrera was born on November 21, 1958, in Friona, Texas, to Albino and Juanita Hernandez Lumbrera. She was the eldest of seven children. At the age of 13, Diana dropped out of school, citing physical illness. In 1972, at 14, she married Rodolfo Carrillo and moved to Bovina, Texas. Their marriage was troubled, leading to a separation in 1974. Subsequently, Diana met Lionel Garza, who would become her second husband.
Crimes
Between 1976 and 1990, Diana Lumbrera systematically suffocated six of her own children and a cousin's child. She would rush each unresponsive child to the hospital, claiming they had stopped breathing due to convulsions, and then blame medical staff for not resuscitating them. Initially, these deaths were attributed to natural causes, but patterns and inconsistencies eventually led to investigations and her conviction.
