Kenneth Alessio Bianchi, born on May 22, 1951, in Rochester, New York, is an American serial killer known for the infamous "Hillside Strangler" murders. Alongside his cousin, Angelo Buono Jr., Bianchi terrorized Los Angeles between October 1977 and February 1978, targeting young women and girls. The duo's heinous crimes involved kidnapping, sexual assault, torture, and murder, with victims ranging in age from 12 to 28 years old.

Modus Operandi

Bianchi and Buono employed a cunning method to ensnare their victims. Posing as undercover police officers, they used fake badges to lure unsuspecting women into their vehicle, a car they claimed was an unmarked police car. Once the victims were in their control, they were taken to Buono's residence, where they endured horrific acts of torture and sexual assault before being strangled to death. The bodies were then discarded on hillsides in the Los Angeles area, leading to the media dubbing them the "Hillside Stranglers."

• Lauren Wagner, age 18 – November 28, 1977: A business student whose body was discovered in the hills of Los Angeles. She showed signs of torture and strangulation.
• Kimberly Martin, age 17 – December 13, 1977: A sex worker who was lured to a bogus modeling agency. Her body was found naked on a deserted lot near Los Angeles City Hall.
• Cindy Lee Hudspeth, age 20 – February 16, 1978: A waitress whose body was found in the trunk of her car, which had been pushed off a cliff on the Angeles Crest Highway.
• Karen Mandic, age 22, and Diane Wilder, age 27 – January 11, 1979: These two women were lured by Bianchi alone in Bellingham, Washington, under the pretense of a house-sitting job. Both were strangled, and Bianchi was arrested the following day due to the evidence left behind.
