Karen Lauretta Mandic, a 22-year-old woman, was tragically murdered on January 11, 1979. She was a student at Western Washington University and was found dead alongside her roommate, Diane Wilder, aged 27, in Bellingham, Washington. Both women were discovered inside the hatchback of Mandic's car, which was parked in a remote area.
