Overview
Dale Shawn Hausner, born on February 4, 1973, became infamously known as the "Phoenix Serial Shooter" for his involvement in a series of deadly shootings in the mid-2000s. Alongside his accomplice, Samuel Dieteman, Hausner terrorized the Phoenix metropolitan area between May 2005 and August 2006, targeting random pedestrians and animals in a spree of violence that left eight people dead and at least 19 others injured.
Background
Prior to his criminal activities, Hausner worked as a custodian at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and was a boxing photojournalist for various sports publications. - May 2, 2006: Claudia Gutierrez-Cruz, 20, shot and killed in Scottsdale, Arizona.
- July 30, 2006: Robin Blasnek, 22, shot and killed in Mesa, Arizona.
In addition to these fatalities, Hausner and Dieteman wounded numerous other individuals and were responsible for multiple arson attacks, including fires set at two Walmart stores on June 8, 2006, causing significant property damage.
