Peter Harootunian, a 52-year-old man, went missing on May 15, 2022, in Death Valley National Park, California. His vehicle was found abandoned at the Emigrant Campground, which prompted a search that began on May 23, 2022. Despite efforts by the National Park Service and other agencies, including ground and aerial searches, Peter has not been located. Due to extreme heat in the area, with temperatures reaching up to 123°F, the search was scaled back to a limited and continuous effort.
