Early Life
Anna Marie Hahn, born Anna Marie Filser on July 7, 1906, in Füssen, Bavaria, Germany, was the youngest of twelve children. She emigrated to the United States in 1929 and settled in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she married Philip Hahn in 1930.
Crimes
Anna Marie Hahn, also known as "Arsenic Anna" and "The Blonde Borgia," was a German-born American serial killer who poisoned five elderly men in Cincinnati between 1933 and 1937. Her motive was to gain their estates through fraudulently produced wills or by raiding their bank accounts.
Victims
- Erich Koch: 72 years old, died on May 6, 1933. Hahn inherited a house from him.
- Albert Parker: 72 years old, date of death unpublished. Hahn borrowed $1,000 from him, and the IOU disappeared after his death.
- Jacob Wagner: 78 years old, died on June 3, 1937. He left $17,000 to his "beloved niece" Hahn.
- George Gsellman: 67 years old, died on July 6, 1937. Hahn received $17,000 for her service before his death.
- George Obendoerfer: 67 years old, died on August 1, 1937, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. An autopsy revealed high levels of arsenic in his body.
