Background
Geoffrey T. Griffin, born in 1971, is an American serial killer known as "The Roseland Killer." Active primarily in the Roseland neighborhood on Chicago's South Side, Griffin targeted vulnerable women, many of whom were involved in prostitution or struggling with drug addiction, between 1998 and 2000.Modus Operandi
Griffin's method of operation involved luring his victims into abandoned buildings under the pretense of engaging in drug use or sexual activities. Once isolated, he would strangle them, often during or after sexual encounters. The bodies were left in these vacant structures, making discovery and identification challenging for authorities.Victims
Griffin was linked to the murders of seven women. Detailed information about each victim is limited, but the known victims include:- Angela Jones: A 32-year-old mother of seven, found dead on May 12, 2000. She was the first victim linked to Griffin, who later confessed to her murder.
- Beverly Burns: Found dead in the summer of 2000. Griffin was acquitted of her murder due to insufficient evidence, despite blood spatter linking him to the crime scene.
