Early Crimes in Canada
Born in Scotland in 1850, Cream studied medicine in Canada before embarking on a sinister path. His first known crime was in 1879 when he was suspected of murdering his mistress, Kate Gardener, in Ontario. Though evidence pointed to him, he was not convicted.
Murder of Daniel Stott - 1881
In Illinois, USA, Cream was involved in the death of Daniel Stott, the husband of a woman with whom he was having an affair. Cream provided Mrs. Stott with strychnine-laced medicine to poison her husband. He was arrested and sentenced to life in Joliet Prison but was released after serving only ten years.
