Background

Anthony McKnight (1954 – October 17, 2019) was an American serial killer, rapist, kidnapper, and sex offender who terrorized Oakland, California, in the mid-1980s. McKnight, a former Navy veteran, was convicted of killing five women and assaulting five others over a period of five months from late 1985 to early 1986.

Crimes and Convictions

McKnight's reign of terror began in September 1985 and continued until his arrest in January 1986. He was found guilty of five counts of first-degree murder and multiple special circumstances, including murder committed in the course of rape and sodomy.

Victims

• Betty Stuart - Found on September 22, 1985, at Aquatic Park in Berkeley. Her neck had been slashed.
• Diane Stone - Found on September 29, 1985, near an elementary school in Oakland. She had been stabbed in the neck.
• Talita Dixon - Found on October 8, 1985, on a trail in Redwood Regional Park in the Oakland hills. She had been stabbed numerous times.
• Monique Davis - Found on December 9, 1985, behind a Richmond business. She had been killed by blows to the head.
• Beverly Bryant - Found on December 24, 1985, at an elementary school in the Oakland hills. She also died of head injuries.
