Thirteen-year-old Talita Dixon was a bright and loving young girl who tragically lost her life on October 8, 1985. She had just celebrated her birthday and was described by her mother, Marsha Dixon Showers, as a special child who loved to sing and play with Barbie dolls. Talita had left her home to walk to school alone for the first time just days before her murder. Her mother recalled having an unexplainable feeling of unease at the time.
