Profile of Serial Killer Ronald Keith Allridge
Early Life and Initial Crime
Ronald Keith Allridge was born on September 27, 1960, in West Germany, where his father was stationed as part of the military. The family later relocated to Fort Worth, Texas. In March 1976, at the age of 15, Ronald committed a robbery at a local department store, stealing several watches and three guns. He began bringing one of these firearms to O.D. Wyatt High School, displaying it to fellow students and expressing a readiness to use it. On April 12, 1976, Ronald fatally shot 15-year-old Lorenzo Kneeland in the chest and abdomen in the school's restroom area. Another student, James Christian, was also shot but survived. The motive for the shooting was unclear, though it was reported that Ronald and Lorenzo had previous altercations. Ronald was apprehended while walking along Old Mansfield Highway, still in possession of the firearm. He was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and, in 1977, pleaded guilty to the crime, receiving a 10-year prison sentence. He was released in 1983 without parole requirements.
1985 Crime Spree
After his release, Ronald struggled with employment and was eventually fired from a restaurant job in late 1984. In the following months, he and his younger brother, James, embarked on a series of armed robberies in the Fort Worth area.
