Franc Cano: A Detailed Account of His Crimes
Background
Franc Cano, born on July 22, 1986, in Los Angeles County, California, is an American serial killer and sex offender. Prior to his series of murders, Cano had a criminal history that included a conviction for rape in 2008. He became acquainted with Steven Dean Gordon, another convicted sex offender, and together they embarked on a series of heinous crimes in Orange County, California, between 2013 and 2014.
The Crimes
Between October 2013 and March 2014, Franc Cano and Steven Dean Gordon targeted young women involved in prostitution in the cities of Santa Ana and Anaheim. Despite both being on GPS monitoring due to their prior convictions, they managed to abduct, rape, and murder at least four women. The known victims are:
- Kianna Jackson: 20 years old; disappeared on October 6, 2013, from Santa Ana. Her body has never been recovered.
- Josephine Vargas: 34 years old; last seen on October 24, 2013, in Santa Ana. Her body has never been found.
- Martha Anaya: 28 years old; disappeared on November 12, 2013, from Santa Ana. Her remains have not been located.
- Sable Alexandria Pickett: 19 years old; last seen on February 14, 2014, in Santa Ana. Her body has never been found.
- Jarrae Nykkole Estepp: 21 years old; abducted on March 13, 2014, in Anaheim. Her body was discovered on March 14, 2014, at a recycling plant in east Anaheim.
