Overview

Paul Allen Perez is an American serial killer whose crimes went unsolved for nearly four decades before DNA evidence linked him to a string of horrific murders that spanned the 1980s. Dubbed the “Delta Baby Killer” by investigators, Perez targeted young women and infants in a spree of chilling violence that remained shrouded in mystery until 2020.

The Investigation and Breakthrough

Perez was finally arrested in 2020 after a cold case review of a baby’s remains found in 2007 led to the reexamination of evidence using advanced DNA techniques. That child, later identified as Nikko Lee Perez, was Perez’s own son. Investigators then connected Paul Perez to the deaths of at least five of his children, all infants, through matching DNA and familial relationships.
