Ethan Crumbley 2021 Mass Murder
Overview of the Incident
On November 30, 2021, 15-year-old Ethan Robert Crumbley carried out a school shooting at Oxford High School in Oxford Township, Michigan. Using a 9 mm SIG Sauer semi-automatic handgun, he opened fire during a class transition period, killing four students and injuring seven others, including a teacher. The shooting lasted approximately five minutes, from about 12:51 p.m. to 12:56 p.m.
Ethan was arrested without incident and later charged as an adult with 24 counts, including first-degree premeditated murder, terrorism causing death, assault with intent to murder, and firearm offenses.
Victims
- Madisyn Baldwin, 17 – killed at the scene (died November 30, 2021)
- Tate Myre, 16 – killed while attempting to stop the shooter; died in a police vehicle en route to the hospital on November 30, 2021
- Hana St. Juliana, 14 – killed at the scene (died November 30, 2021)
- Justin Shilling, 17 – critically wounded and died in hospital on December 1, 2021
Other Injuries
Seven others were injured in the attack, including six students and one teacher. Some were critically wounded; one teacher suffered a graze wound to the shoulder and was later discharged, and the last injured victim was released from the hospital on January 17, 2022.
