Early Life

Kenneth Francis Harrison, born on September 4, 1938, in Boston, Massachusetts, was an American serial killer known as "The Giggler." Little is known about his personal life, but he became an unemployed itinerant cook who lived in various rooming houses around the South End of Boston.

Murders

Kenneth Harrison committed a series of murders between 1967 and 1969 in Boston, Massachusetts. He earned his nickname from calling the authorities after each killing, professing it was the killer speaking and uncontrollably giggling before hanging up.

Victims

• Lucy Palmarin: On April 15, 1967, 6-year-old Lucy Palmarin disappeared while running an errand in a public housing project in Boston. Her body was found on May 24, 1967, in the Fort Point Channel. Her death was initially presumed accidental.
• Joseph "Joe" Breen: On June 16, 1969, 31-year-old Joseph Breen, a Marine Corps veteran, was killed by Harrison after a confrontation in Boston's Combat Zone. Harrison tossed Breen into a water-filled hole at a construction site and struck him with a large rock until he drowned.
• Unnamed 9-year-old boy: On January 6, 1970, the body of a 9-year-old boy was discovered in an abandoned tunnel under South Station. Harrison had strangled the boy with a piece of twine and concealed the body in a canvas bag.
• Unnamed 75-year-old woman: On November 26, 1969, Harrison escorted a 75-year-old woman across the Broadway Bridge in South Boston. Halfway across, he punched her, flipped her cane off the bridge, and tossed her over the railing, causing her to drown.
