Crimes and Murders

• Etta Mae Stallings (April 1997) – Chester murdered 87-year-old Etta Mae Stallings in her Port Arthur home. He broke in, stole valuables, and strangled her to death.
• Sally Mae Gray (August 1997) – 78-year-old Sally Mae Gray was raped and murdered in a similar home invasion attack. Chester broke into her house, assaulted her, and then killed her.
• Cheryl DeLeon (September 20, 1997) – Chester raped and murdered 40-year-old Cheryl DeLeon after breaking into her residence in Port Arthur.
• Ernest Ray Summers Jr. (November 2, 1997) – Summers, a 35-year-old man, was fatally shot by Chester while he was attempting to protect his family from an intruder.
• John Henry Williams (February 1998) – Williams, 50, was another victim who died at the hands of Chester in a violent attack.
• Willie Ryman III (February 6, 1998) – Ryman, a 38-year-old firefighter, was shot and killed when he tried to protect his relatives from Chester’s violent rampage.

Arrest and Conviction
