Mass Murder by Ki Yung Park – January 9, 2001

Overview

On January 9, 2001, Ki Yung Park, aged 54 and born in 1947, committed a tragic and violent spree in Houston, Texas. His actions began with the murder of his estranged wife and escalated into a deadly rampage at a nearby business, ending with his own suicide .

Sequence of Events

Ki Yung Park started the series of murders at a convenience store he co-owned with his estranged wife. At around noon on January 9, 2001, he shot and killed her inside the store. He then drove to a nearby wholesale clothing and perfume business, Amko Trading Store, where he fatally shot three additional people. Park then turned the gun on himself when law enforcement arrived .
