Ray Joseph Dandridge: 2006 Richmond Spree Murders

Background

Ray Joseph Dandridge (born January 24, 1977) and his uncle, Ricky Javon Gray, carried out a murderous spree in and around Richmond, Virginia, over seven days in early January 2006. Gray’s girlfriend, Ashley Baskerville, assisted them during part of the spree before becoming one of their victims. Investigators later connected the pair to violent acts that immediately preceded the spree.

Prelude to the Spree (December 31, 2005)

On December 31, 2005, 26-year-old Ryan Carey was ambushed outside his parents’ home in Arlington, Virginia. He later identified his attackers as Gray and Dandridge. He suffered extensive stab and beating wounds, was comatose for two weeks, and permanently lost the use of his right arm.

Harvey Family Murders (January 1, 2006)

In the early afternoon of January 1, 2006, Kathryn “Kathy” Harvey, her husband Bryan Harvey, and their daughters Stella (9) and Ruby (4) were found in the basement of their burning home in the Woodland Heights neighborhood of Richmond.
