In the late hours of a March evening in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the sound of gunfire shattered the night, leading to the tragic death of 28-year-old Brandon Lamar Phillips, a Black male. On March 17, 2016, police responded to reports of shots fired on Bowser Avenue. Their investigation led them to the 4500 block of Oliver Street, where they discovered a black Dodge that had crashed into a parked car.
