In the early hours of a Sunday morning in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the life of 34-year-old Renako Sadiki Kenyatta Thomas, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On November 28, 2021, police responded to a call at an apartment complex located in the 7900 block of Old Decatur Road around 1 a.m. and discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Medics who arrived at the scene pronounced him dead.
The Allen County Coroner's Office later identified the victim as Renako Sadiki Kenyatta Thomas.
An autopsy determined that his death was a homicide caused by a gunshot wound to the chest. His passing marked the 38th homicide in Allen County for the year 2021.
Following an investigation into the fatal shooting, an arrest was made. A man was subsequently charged with murder in connection with the death of Renako Thomas. The case then moved to the judicial system for legal proceedings to address the charges brought against the suspect.
