On the evening of August 8, 2022, law enforcement officials in Fort Wayne, Indiana, responded to a distress call that resulted in the discovery of a deceased child. Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 2100 block of Carterton Drive, located on the city's southeast side, just before 6:00 p.m. inside the home, first responders found a 10-year-old Asian male, identified by the Allen County Coroner’s Office as Ray Dee One, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Medics at the scene pronounced the boy dead shortly after their arrival.
The subsequent investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department quickly identified a suspect in connection with the shooting. A short time after the victim was located, police tracked down another juvenile at a separate location. This individual was taken into custody and reportedly cooperated with detectives during the initial phases of the inquiry.
