On November 16, 2015, 23-year-old Deron McCray was shot and killed inside his home on Chicago Street in Pittsburgh’s Northview Heights neighborhood. The incident occurred during what was initially intended to be a robbery. Randy Johnson, along with his brother Joshua and another unidentified accomplice, went to McCray's residence with the intention of stealing drugs and a firearm that they believed McCray had.
