On June 17, 2024, at approximately 12:54 a.m., Pittsburgh police responded to a ShotSpotter alert indicating six rounds fired in the 3000 block of Arlington Avenue in the Arlington Heights neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers discovered 53-year-old Shawn Marcus Czeczely lying unresponsive in the street with multiple gunshot wounds. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene at 1:12 a.m.
