On a Tuesday evening in Fort Wayne, Indiana, tragedy struck, ending the life of 18-year-old Demarcus Lontino Hale Jr. The date was February 26, 2019, when police responded to reports of a shooting at the intersection of Smith Street and Senate Avenue shortly before 7 p.m. Upon arrival, they found the young man lying in the street, critically injured. Despite the efforts of first responders, Hale was pronounced dead at the scene.
