On the morning of April 30, 2022, a violent incident occurred in East Chicago, Indiana, resulting in the untimely death of Daniel A. Ramirez III. At approximately 4:04 a.m., the East Chicago Police Department received a ShotSpotter alert indicating that multiple rounds had been fired in the vicinity of 5042 Reading Avenue.
