In the early hours of May 29, 2023, a tragedy unfolded in East Chicago, Indiana, that cut short the life of 18-year-old Christian Ogbomon. The young Black male from Hammond was found deceased on a second-story balcony in the 3700 block of Euclid Avenue. East Chicago Police Officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 12:17 AM following a report of a gunshot victim. Upon their arrival, they discovered Ogbomon, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
