On May 30, 2022, the life of 17-year-old African American Xavier Richard Fairley was tragically cut short in a violent incident in Indianapolis, Indiana. A recent graduate of North Central High School, Xavier had been preparing for a promising future with plans to attend Arizona State University to major in Computer Animation Art. The fatal shooting occurred at an apartment complex on the southwest side of the city, where police were called to investigate reports of gunfire.
