On October 3, 2023, a shooting incident occurred at an apartment complex on the far east side of Indianapolis, resulting in the death of 46-year-old Robert Louis Hornbuckle Jr. According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD), officers were dispatched to the 10100 block of John Marshall Drive around 8 p.m. in response to reports of a person being shot.
