In the early hours of a Saturday morning in Indianapolis, a dispute in an apartment complex parking lot tragically escalated, ending the life of 21-year-old Kiyon James William Davidson. The incident, which unfolded just after 1 a.m. on June 8, 2024, at the Maple Creek Apartments, was preceded by a disturbance involving several people.
When officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the scene in the 3800 block of West Michigan Street, they found Kiyon James
William Davidson on the sidewalk, critically injured from a gunshot wound. Despite the immediate medical attention he received, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Marion County Coroner's Office later officially ruled his death a homicide.
The investigation into the shooting led detectives to identify a person of interest within days. The trail led them to Gary, Indiana, where a 19-year-old suspect, Chris Glassbar, was taken into custody on June 13 without incident. As the investigation continued, a second 19-year-old, Dean Jackson, was also arrested in connection with the fatal shooting. Police believe both teenagers were responsible for the death of Davidson. The authorities have not released specific details about what led to the altercation in the parking lot that morning.
