On a Saturday afternoon in Indianapolis, 33-year-old Dajuan Barnett, a male, was fatally shot while sitting in the driver's seat of his truck. The vehicle was parked behind his residence in the 2800 block of North Olney Street. His body was discovered later that evening, around 5 p.m. on October 8, 2022, after a report was made about an unresponsive person in a vehicle.
Upon their arrival, officers found Mr. Barnett and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
It was during the initial evaluation by medics that a gunshot wound was discovered, prompting the involvement of homicide detectives. Investigators believe the shooting occurred hours before his body was found.
