In the cold of a January evening in Indianapolis, a grim discovery was made that left a family shattered and a community searching for answers. On January 9, 2020, police were called to the 6600 block of East 45th Street on the city's northeast side. Inside a vehicle, they found the bodies of 26-year-old Shane McFarland and 65-year-old Diane McFarland. Both had been shot, their lives taken in an act of violence that remains a mystery.
