Mohammad Afifi, aged 42, tragically lost his life on June 27, 1985, in Hampton, Virginia. Afifi, who worked as a store clerk, was one of the victims in a violent robbery attempt at a local supermarket. The incident also claimed the life of Clyde Jenkins, the 73-year-old store owner. The perpetrator, Herman Charles Barnes, entered the store armed and wearing a nylon stocking over his head.
