Haywood Keith Payne Jr., aged 32, passed away on December 8, 2014, in Lynchburg, Virginia, after being shot on December 2, 2014. Payne was shot by Larry Mosley, a man in his sixties, at Mosley's Fort Avenue apartment. The incident occurred while Payne was sitting under a blanket on a couch. Despite being shot in the chest and abdomen, Payne managed to call 911 and identified Mosley as the shooter. Payne succumbed to his injuries six days later.
