Dedric Shyheim Megginson, an 18-year-old from Lynchburg, Virginia, tragically lost his life on May 16, 2017, following a shooting incident on Dearing Street. The Lynchburg Police Department responded to a reported burglary in progress at a residence in the 800 block of Dearing Street around 9:40 p.m. on May 15, 2017.
