In the quiet, early morning hours of August 1, 2021, a burst of gunfire shattered the peace on the 1800 block of Park Avenue in Lynchburg, Virginia. When police arrived at the scene around 3:40 a.m. following reports of shots fired, they discovered 65-year-old Garey Douglas Braxton suffering from a gunshot wound.
