In the fall of 2015, the life of 29-year-old Brandon Scott Carter was tragically cut short in Lynchburg, Virginia. On November 10, 2015, Carter was the victim of a fatal drive-by shooting on Cliff Street. He was struck in the shoulder by a bullet fired from a moving vehicle and later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
